About Frances

Ms Frances Horibe is a best-selling author whose books have been published in Canada, the U.S., Australia, Great Britain, China and the Arab states. She speaks and consults frequently with a wide variety of clients, both nationally and internationally.

She won the Canadian Writers’ Journal contest with a short piece of fiction called Prescription for a Funeral as well as an Ottawa Citizen contest for best movie review. She has published numerous articles.

She has two blogs. The Dark Side of Work helps employees to successfully deal with their offices’ politics which can make or break their careers even if they’re not playing.

From Drivel to Magic: The Writing Journey helps writers hone their abilities. It features weekly posts covering mastery of craft issues such as:
• writing with energy,
• starting a memoir, and
• creating a fictional world.

In addition, the blog deals with the human side of writing such as:
• writer’s block,
• whether you’ll hurt others writing your memoir, and
• accepting feedback while still holding onto your unique voice.

Frances has a B.A. in Psychology from McGill University and an M.A. in Psychology from University of Western Ontario.
